The Teddy is injured....

"The Teddy is injured”

The statement was more than enough to stir up the silent anger thriving within.

"The teddy is injured" said my little 7 year old niece watching the news coverage of the Pune blasts. "Won't somebody help him out?" And I replied what anybody else would have done.....though it was a lie.

"There are people to take care of him and others”, convincing her to a great deal.

Really? Where are they then?

Once again it happened. They won. We lost. The cowards did it again. They raised their deadly heads and bit this calm, peace loving and ever beautiful city of Pune. And once again we people went through the same set of emotions, actions and reactions, the way we always do. Bear a few seconds on news channels, blame the politics and politicians , thank God that it were not you and then get involved in your daily businesses. And our reactions are justified because we can’t really do anything as most of our efforts are down fighting other IMPORTANT issues. We'll fight for not letting some movie release, we'll fight for reservation of all sorts, we'll fight for vote bank, we'll fight for language, caste, demand of new states, higher wages, better facilities , and almost everything. Moreover we are all the more occupied processing softwares for some goddamn US based company, or we are waiting desperately for a Dubai Visa so as to drill some oil for them and some dinars for ourselves.

And then we are confused in our sub-conscious mindset, where are we headed towards?

Is this the future what we desire of? The kid is worried about the poor teddy and what we have in store for her. A stage where people are killed in the deadliest of manners? Where you are not sure of the next second, keep aside tomorrow? Where the cowardice of a few has overpowered the authority of a nation?

Well, I don’t want a future like this. And no one else does.

The situation has worsened to such an extent, that someone like Kasab could find a lawyer who is ready to defend his acts. Isn’t it pathetic? Is there any need for an investigation really?

And surprisingly there is no one to rescue us. At least those responsible for the administration are not the ones. But still in such a grave situation there lies a ray of hope as even now we have the courage to fight against them, at least the youth has. We can see a change in opinion, a wave of improvement. The undisturbed unity of our nation is an example to cheer about. The miscreants use the name of a religion, the religion whose very foundations are laid on the concepts of brotherhood and love. And unfortunately, they have attacked our nation, where every Muslim celebrates Diwali and every Hindu shares greetings on Eid.

We really don't care what they think of or what their objectives are. But I don't want to die in a bomb blast or a terrorist attack at a railway station. I will fight and fight till the last second of my life. The youth must take up the responsibility and fortunately they have. A revolution is just round the corner and I want to be a part of it.

Don't YOU?

  1. nice thoughts...... its really very sad that people and the government so easily forget these losses of innocent lives. What were the faults of the people who died and injured in the blasts? Today the youth should come ahead, take part in every serious issues and try to come up with a change. And the government should take necessary steps over the country's security .We just can't let the cowards come, take the lives.

  2. why do u call them cowards?i mean, they are fighting for what they feel is right.its our job to protect ourselves and we are really trying to protect ourselves.very tough times are ahead with so many sporting events to take place.so we should be prepared for these acts more often.hope these events pass off peacefully.

  3. Its no matter, what they are fighting for. They may be having some valid reasons to do these type of shameful acts. After all life is precious to everyone.Any one would do these extreme things only if he things really this should be done.
But my point is that why do they come and attack at innocent public. If they are not coward, come and fight in the open.Whats the fault of common man.Why should the common man suffer in their fight.

  4. nice thought Adil.I really liked it. :) :)
But terrorism is a very sensitive issue.
We can't control it until we understand the true
    cause of it.

watch the documentary --> The Third Jihad.(You will get an idea.)

I can only say that it's very sad that these events happen.it's very difficult to stop it
from happening.we can only pray for the victims.

  5. Thanks a lot to all of you for your most valuable comments and I hope you'll continue to do so!
The thing is that why we always want to avoid a problem rather than removing it. We should protect ourselves, no doubt. so what should we do, what all will you avoid? Travelling in trains, visiting holy places, eating cakes. What all. We need to fight against them rather than to somehow avoid them......

  6. Adil, its very nice of your combative part. I have an idea to work for the cause for the nation. What if i ask you to join politics ? Don't you think we will be able to convince people and moreover we will work in far better manner than what these oldies do. Just think in a long term aspect on this issue. I want to form a team for this noble cause.

And yes Kasab, he has become the son-in-law of India i suppose.

  8. I understand ur anguish at terrorism, which is justified as much as the acts of terrorism are unjustified. But don't romanticize. In your own Kharagpur I know ppl who discriminate against ppl for no other reason than he being a Muslim. In your own Kharagpur I know ppl who won't let a Muslim get any close with someone they know. So pls stop this stereotyping of Muslims celebrating Diwali and Hindus celebrating Eid. Of course Muslims might be celebrating Diwali, for the market forces have made that hegemonic. But Hindus celebrating Eid!! C'mon. Eid is not even a special day for our mobile service providers who, for any other festival, charges Rs.1 for messaging on such days!! So pls..

  9. Its good that u knw pple in Kharagpur, and thnx for calling it as 'MY' Kharagpur. I knw ppl too, pl who can throw their heart out for me, who don't care about my name but about me, ppl for whom friendship is above all. So my suggestion- Get out from the myopic nutshell!! No Offense!

  10. myopia is when u believe all that the media dishes out to u!! Ofcourse there are always loving ppl, irrespective of religions and regions. Who ever contested that? All that I had a problem was that narratives such as yours obliterate a crucial fact, that for most of us, the opinions on a stranger are very quickly made in association with a religion. Of course, come Muslims are terrorists. But the problem is when ppl imagine one is a terroist bcoz one is a Muslim.
the myopic nutshell that I am living in consists mostly of Bengali atheists :). And they are ppl who, not 'can', but 'will' throw out their heart for me. But, sadly, from what I gathered (and my own personal experience which I won't narrate her) is that Bengal is not all that rosy!!

  11. also, I challenge u to get out of Kharagpur, go to any city including Cal just two hours away, and try finding a place to stay saying ur name. Let me see the dreamland that u r talking about

  12. I share here my experiences, and my perspectives. The day I find myself in a situation similar to the one expressed in flamboyant words by you, I'll have my words speaking that "Truth" that you're talking about. As far as Bengal is considered, neither am I a very big fan of this state, but for reasons other than those mentioned above..
